If you learn about tennis, the following two people you must not be unfamiliar with. The left one is Federer who is good at playing tennis on the natural grass turf.  The other one is Nadal who is called "Red clay king".

Tennis is an ancient sport, it can be traced back to France in the 12th century. But until several centuries later, a relatively formal system of modern tennis is established in British. One of them is the choice of tennis courts. In competitions of modern tennis, formal tennis courts can be divided into hard courts, clay courts, carpet courts,  of course, and grass courts. Due to the restrictions of natural conditions and with the development of technology, synthetic grass becomes more and more popular as well as is widely used in grass tennis competitions.

More and more event organizers choose to use the astroturf in modern tennis competitions and abandon the natural ones. But why?

The cost


as we all know, a large formal international competition may consume tens of thousands of square meters of turf grass. And it's just the cost of early procurements. As time goes by, the maintenance of artificial lawns will spend a large amount of money, too.

Compare to the natural one, astroturf costs little but brings a lot. You just need to pay your bills once, and then, let it go! Don't worry about it will wither. It will keep fresh for a long time after your installation is finished.

Do you know what to prepare for natural grass? I guess most of you never think about this. High-quality grass seeds and a lawnmower, that's enough? No, you forget something important but easily be ignored-Your valuable time. Imagine this scene, your neighbor is BBQ, you are mowing. Your friends are enjoying their holiday, and you are still mowing. For mowing, you lose too much time to enjoy your life. You have to tolerate the noise of the mower. If you choose fake grass, all of above will disappear from your life.

The hard tennis court which is generally made of cement and asphalt is the most common kind of venue. It is coated with beautiful paint such as red and green or a layer of the high-grade plastic surface. The surface is flat and high in hardness. The ball bounces regularly. And when the ball rebounds, its speed is very fast. It's a challenge to the reaction of plays. The hard court is easy to clean and maintain. It does not require careful care frequently. Many public tennis courts use this hard court.

The clay tennis courts are "soft venues". The clay court is the most typical representative of the “soft court”. In addition, various kinds of common sand, mud, and the like can be called soft sites. This kind of venue is not very hard. The surface is covered with a layer of fine sand or brick powder. It is characterized by a large friction between the ball and the ground when the ball is landing. The ball speed is relatively slow.
 

The carpet court

 

As the name suggests, this is a "portable" roll-up tennis court. Its surface is a plastic surface layer or a nylon woven surface layer. Some can be spread or bonded to any supporting ground directly, which is convenient for transportation, suitable for transportation and it has strong adaptability.
